You can take advantage of the functions of the portal that let you know if a song is usable and, in addition, monetize its use.It is also possible to access the archive of free songs made available by YouTube or, alternatively, go to one of the numerous Websites that host melodies with a Creative Commons license.
But, we go in order with this little guide .
All the options to upload music in a video
The famous platform for watching and sharing videos introduced a system to discover how to use a particular song, even if it is covered by copyright.
How to do it?
Once the web has been logged in through the Google account, you must click on our image (or in the space for the photo if we have not put anything) and click on the Creator Studio button , so that the section where the videos are managed can be accessed.
In the left sidebar, select the Create option and click on Music policies to display a list of millions of songs that can be used on YouTube For information on how to use a particular melody, you can write your title in the Search music space.
Use a song in a video or make a version
- You cannot use this song in your YouTube videos. If you use this song we may silence or block your video .And no further explanations are needed.
- If you use this song : where you can read the terms of use of the song in a video.
- If you interpret a version : where the useful information is in case you want to load an interpretation of the song itself.
In the latter two cases, there are two options:
- Reproduction : the countries in which the video will be visible are indicated if it contains the chosen song:
It can be seen everywhere except in [number] countries
Blocked in [country name]
- Advertising : Indicates whether the video containing the song can contain ads and therefore be monetized or not.The option No ads can appear means that the proceeds will go to the author of the song, while the Ads may appear option indicates that you can get economic benefits from the video, but the Revenue will be shared with the copyright owner of the song used.
If the song you searched for does not appear, it means that the copyright owner has not specified the treatment you want for your work and did not require the monetization of the content, so you can use the song and monetize it without infringing any right. However, in the future, the author could change the rules of use, with relative problems for the video that contains it.It is possible to monitor the status of copyright and community policies through the Creator Studio section, by clicking on the Channel and Status and Functions in the left sidebar.
