INCIBE enables a phone to advise minors about internet risks

The National Institute of Cybersecurity (INCIBE), under the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda, has enabled a assistance telephone-900 116 117-to resolve the doubts and conflicts that usually arise in children, adolescents and his parents in the use of the Internet. This counseling service is free and they work in a multidisciplinary team formed by psychologists, experts in technology security and legal issues.


Calls will be answered from 10:00 a.m.to 8:00 p.m.from Monday to Friday and from 10:00 a.m.to 2:00 p.m.on Saturdays.In addition, 24 hours a day, INCIBE has an active email service (help@is4k.es) through which questions and queries about the risks arising from the new technologies are also resolved.

The telephone attention service is confidential and provides minors with assistance on any questions related to the safe and responsible use of the Internet and its risks such as conflicts over privacy and reputation, cyberbullying , excessive use, inappropriate content and contacts, dangerous communities, as well as issues about protection of devices, viruses or fraud, among others.


Although this phone is not only available for teenagers, but also for parents, educators and professionals of the child's environment who need help in dealing with any circumstance that may arise in relation to young people and children.Internet use.This helpline is part of the Internet Safe for Kids initiative, which was launched last February.


'Internet Safe for Kids' (IS4K) is the new Internet Security Center for Children , powered by INCIBE.This platform aims to raise awareness and advise children and their environment so that they can take advantage of the advantages offered by new technologies without taking any risk.


This center helps to prevent these possible risks through the promotion of safe and responsible Internet use among children and adolescents.The main tasks entrusted are train to minors, youth, families, educators and professionals in the field of the minor, through campaigns, initiatives and programs of national scope; offer a helpline service on how to deal with internet risks: harmful content, harmful contacts and inappropriate behaviors; and reduce the availability of criminal content on the internet , mainly of child sexual abuse.
