Related Orange will put March 35 scenarios of using the 5G network in these cities to verify, in real scenarios, the great advantages that this new technology brings that will transform the customer experience. 5G will mean a revolution in the use of the mobile networks that will go from connecting people to connecting any physical ecosystem in which people develop their activity.
The experiences of use in 5G cities will be developed within the framework of the aid program for pilot projects related to the new mobile technology, whose call has been launched by the Red.es entity within the 5G National Plan of the Ministry of Economy and Company.
5G cities and 4G coverage
In addition to the announcement of its 5G cities, Orange maintains leadership in 4G, with more than 9.6 million customers already enjoying this technology. a hyperconnected environment with 5G
As explained in Nobbot, Laurent Paillassot, CEO of Orange, this technology is a promise, both for citizens and businesses, of a new way of interacting with a hyperconnected environment, giving way to an 'environment connectivity'.
This is an evolution and, at the same time, a revolution: an evolution because it means still faster Internet access, faster speed, better access since we are multiplying by 100 the speed. This will make possible the growth of virtual reality, augmented reality and cloud computing.
However, the revolution is more important because it will change the way people interact, live, enjoy and work, and the way in which companies manage their businesses.
5G will allow massive IoT (Internet of things or Internet of things) connectivity for smart cities, smart metering and wearables ; also an extremely low latency for services such as autonomous vehicle, industrial automation and critical emergency services; and very low energy needs. The transportation and automotive industry are two of the sectors where its consequences are most easily visible , although it is expected to see this impact also in many new industries and services: telesurgery, smart factories, logistics, energy, smart cities, robotics, environment, public safety.
