4G mobile network flies at Barajas Airport

The operators are still committed to offering the highest quality in communications through the 4G mobile network that allows us to download the videos of the party from the night before to our smartphone, at full speed.In this environment Orange discards that, after Strengthening its 4G coverage in soccer stadiums , tourist areas and metro lines throughout Spain, has completed the technological renovation project of the Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport , in the which has invested 890,000 euros. And, yes, we have not been able to avoid the owner's pun.


Thanks to this initiative, Orange has multiplied by 6 the capacity of its mobile network at the Madrid airport , through which 46.8 million travelers passed in 2015 , so that more users can connect simultaneously, always with the best quality and the fastest speed.


In addition, it has completed the coverage of its 4G mobile network in the 36 stations that are distributed throughout the airport.This way, travelers will be able to enjoy the highest quality in their communications while are at any point of the facility.


From 180 Gigabytes/day to more than 500 Gigabytes/day


As a result of these renovations of its 4G mobile network, in which the form of data transmission has been changed to increase the capacity that Orange offers to its customers, the traffic through its network has almost tripled that new nodes have been incorporated, going from 180 Gigabytes/day to more than 500 Gigabytes/day.

Orange has also incorporated 4G technology in the Metro line 8 stations that connect the airport terminals with the city, so that travelers enjoy a continuity of 4G service to their destination.

Projects such as the Madrid airport and metro line 8 are part of Orange's ambitious 4G network deployment plan, in which the company is investing 1,500 million euros in order to achieve its fourth generation coverage mobile to 95% of the Spanish population in 2017.


With data from June 2016, the company already reaches a total of 6,412,000 4G customers and offers fourth generation mobile coverage to 88.5% of the population , being able to enjoy the internet at 1,300 municipalities at the highest speed, including all those with more than 10,000 inhabitants.
