Leaving Facebook can make you happier ... and Mark does the same

In the recent presentation of its results, corresponding to 2018, Facebook silenced all the voices that called into question the strength of the company after its scandals. With a benefit of $ 22,112 million, Mark Zuckerberg can quietly glimpse all the comments that accuse him of being the new Big Brother. The reality is that their social network is an advertising platform and, as such, offers advertisers what they want: return on their investment through in-depth knowledge of their users. So we can write about the happiness that leaves Facebook leaving without fear of the company's foundations faltering.Mark, forgive us, it's envy, you follow your own.

I myself have to confess that I decided to leave Facebook weeks ago -interestingly, on the same day I quit smoking-and I feel more relaxed, I don't know if happy. At least I avoid a few notifications and the consequent need to visit the social network in case I miss something That I never missed anything but, seeing a notification and starting to drool like Pavlov's dog, were the same thing.

At the moment I stay in my thirteen and I do not regret my decision to leave Facebook, despite the insistent SMS that invite me to jump back into Mark Zuckerberg's lap with just one click.

Well, as far as it goes, scientists at Stanford University have conducted a study with 2,844 US Facebook users, some of whom asked to delete their accounts during the midterm elections in the US.

For four weeks, the researchers monitored the status of the participants through online surveys and SMS, and following their activity on Facebook (in case they abandoned the experiment) and Twitter.Participants were interviewed about how they spent their free time without a social network, how much they communicated with their families and where they got the news.

leave Facebook, lose information

At the end of the experiment, as they tell us in N + 1, the participants felt happier, they began to spend less time on social networks and more, with family and friends. It also decreased the polarization of their political feelings and the awareness of what is happening in the world. In fact, as a "negative" effect, the study found that the study subjects were less informed about what was happening in the country and the world after leaving Facebook.
