'Internet Safe for Kids' (IS4K) is the new Internet Security Center for Children , promoted by the Spanish Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda, through the Secretary of State for the Information Society and Digital Agenda and of the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE), and has just begun to work.This center aims to raise awareness and advise minors and their environment in order to that can take advantage of the new technologies without taking any risk.
IS4K will help prevent these possible risks through the promotion of safe and responsible use of the Internet among children and adolescents.The main tasks entrusted to them are to train children, youth, families, educators and professionals in the field of the child, through national campaigns, initiatives and programs; offer a helpline service on how to deal with internet risks: harmful content, harmful contacts and inappropriate behaviors; and reduce the availability of criminal content on the internet , mainly of child sexual abuse.
The Spanish center will be part of the European networks INSAFE and INHOPE, within the framework of the European Strategy for a better Internet for minors (BIK).In fact, there are similar organizations in the rest from EU states, as well as in other countries like Iceland and Russia.
The digital platform 'Safe Internet for Kids' has been launched this Tuesday, February 7 coinciding with the International Safe Internet Day.
